Surreal Graphic Design Poster

The main idea of my poster is to depict how art can be influenced and interpreted in a very unusual and fantasy way. Just because something looks like fantasy it does not mean that it doesn’t represent a figurative idea other than what it literally is. With this poster I am expressing surreal art work that can be achieved only by the human’s unconscious mind. My design process was influenced by the surreal poster named “A Life of Aquatic Sounds.” My design is not entirely identical to the original image. In fact, my design portrays a different purpose to the viewer than what the original poster represents. “A Life of Aquatic Sounds” represents a surreal poster in which one is able to see many of the aquatic animals that you would hear in an ocean.  My poster represents something different because I have a different view point. To me, the central image of this poster is the fact that there is a human trapped inside a glass bottle of wine with a shark. This is obviously something unrealistic, but in the world of art everything is true. A shark is a dangerous creature that can possibly bring death to the human inside the bottle. This can be symbolically compared to the fact that in the real world people have many addictions, in which they can also lead to your death, and one example of this can be alcoholism. Therefore, I manipulated the original graphic design poster to create an entirely new idea that shows the struggles in life that one should overcome to not drown in your own vices. It may be strange that I used positive colors when I am portraying something that it’s not really, but it’s about being creative and doing it your way!
